Ford 2000 throttle lever help

I have a 1970 ford 2000. The throttle lever has never stayed put. I've always had to hold.it or bungee cord it. It doesnt really have a friction disc, just some kind of rubber washer that doesnt work. Does anyone have a picture of what the setup should look like or maybe a homemade setup? I just wanna set the throttle and have it stay!

The friction disk is part number 83924272. They are a bit pricey. Messicks wants $11.66 for one:

partspring wants a little less per unit (only $11.00 even), but they only sell them in packs of 5 each:

Since you didn't specify which you have, here are links to the parts drawings for the throttle linkage for both the gasoline and diesel setups. The friction disk is number 10 in both drawings.

Yeah, my 3000 never stays tight for whatever reason. Tightening the nut will make a big difference. But if there's no friction disc you'll want to get one.

Ford 2000; gas 3 cyl; 4/2 trans....I had the same problem and ordered a friction disk from YT. The one I got, although I thought I ordered correctly, was about twice the size needed and is for the lift position lever, not the throttle. Was gonna make one for the throttle and never got around to it. Please report back on your results, I'll be interested to see if the felt disk you get solves your throttle problem or not. Thanks.

I don't think that they're felt. I believe that they're more like double sided sandpaper.
