I recently bought a farm. She had a Ford 2000, I believe 1971. I talked her into leaving it. What does the rest of the numbers mean, 1J28B. The only thing I don"t understand is the 6 speed in a gas tractor, that it has. Could you special order a 6 speed instead of an 8 speed? It fits nicely with my 73 Ford 4000. Has non locking rear diff, ps and a trip loader.

6-speeds were optiional on the 2000 and 3000, starting in mid-1970. The 1J28B looks to me like a transmission production code... maybe someone else can shed more light on that.

I have a 1969 Ford 2000 diesel, cat.1 I wanting to upgrade to a Ford 6610 diesel cat.2. My question is, can you use the cat.1 implements with a cat.2 tractor? if so how hard will it be to change over without buy a whole set of cat.2 implements? Thank you!!

You'd have way more power than you need, but yes, you can use cat. I implements on a cat. II tractor. There are bushings available to slide over the cat. I pins on your equipment, or the pins can be replaced on many machines with cat. II.
