Ford 2600 Unknown Lever

What is the lever located on the left side of the tractor below the seat and right behind the PTO lever? It is mounted on the top of a round container.

The 2600 never had selecto speed. The tractor I was looking at has a 4 speed dual range transmission.

I'm going to guess a transmission handbrake. A pic would be nice so we can confirm.

Pull it up to set the hand brake.. Push in the button on the end of the handle to release the hand brake. You button seems to be stuck inside of the handle or maybe even gone... If stuck, spray, and work it with a screw driver and hammer to tap the button back and forth till if frees up... A spring SHOULD push the button out into the ready position... Most of the time they are simply stuck... occasionally they are gone..... lost long ago.
