ford 2n hydralic pump

Does all ford 2n hydralic knock a little when hot? i used it this evening and the pump knock a little bit louder than it usualy does. i guess this is normal? the fluid levels are all full and i just replaced it in the fall of 08. i guess its an age thing

As long as it works, keep the faith, and the beat.

That does not mean that I expect it to fail.

My 8N has done that for 25+ years.

Ditto what Dunk said.. these scotch yoke pumps knock a bit when worn.. and knock more the more wear they get.. worry not about the knock.. but worry when she stops knocking.

If you use UTF oil in her.. switch to 90wt gl1 gear lube.. or 80w90 gl4/5 gear lube tht is yellow metal safe.
