Dumb question, but how do I control plow depth(2-12 inch breaking plow) with 2N?
(quoted from post at 09:56:38 09/14/11) Rbucke.By putt[ng a stop on the lift quadrant for the down depth.
(quoted from post at 11:38:26 09/14/11) Look at it this way.
Draft control is a function of how hard the tractor is pulling.
On a 3 point plow the harder the tractor has to pull to get it through the ground the harder the plow is going to push on the big spring on the back and on the linkage inside.
In draft mode setting that stop on the touch control handle is not actually setting the depth of the plow - though it does seem so. It is setting how hard the spring gets pushed before the hydraulics automatically raises the plow a little.
Let's say in soft soil the plow pulls easily so thet you set the stop 1/3 up from the bottom. Let's say the plow goes 6" deep.
Now at the same setting move to some very hard ground. Now the plow may only plow 3" deep. In both cases the "push" on the spring is the same.
'm convinced! Where can I buy?(quoted from post at 15:22:53 09/14/11) Here you go Jack.
