Trying to adjust dual clutch on a 1968 (I think) Ford 3000. Shop manual specifies 2.110" from PTO disc hub to top of lever adjusting screws plus or minus 0.010" and a "G" gap of 0.050 to 0.054" (for my particular model) at release lever strut. How critical are these measurements? If I get them close, but not within these specs what problems might I encounter? Uneven clutch wear? High vibration?
Don't have access to a lot of precision measuring instruments other than a set of micrometer calipers and a torque wrench. Splitting the tractor is a major job for me, and I don't want to have to repeat it. Wanted to get the benefit of anyone's experience who could advise an old but inexperienced shade tree mechanic.
Thanks,
Rex
