Ford 3000 stabilizer bars

I’m guessing this has been asked a million times but, what stabilizer bars are good for a Ford 3000? I have the adjustable ones on the on the 6610 but they wouldn’t work on the 3000 (missing a set of holes). Just trying not to kill the tires with the Implements .

The tractor will run a 8 ft woods mower, but will not lift the mower with the top link.

Do you have the angles bolted to the bottom of the axle already? I bought my bars at tractor supply but my 3400 already had the angles bolted to the bottom of the rear axle for the bars to hook to.

Since you dont have ROP you need not worry about this, but 3000's with the ROP need a different bar. It has a bend in it to clear the bracket for the ROP. Bought nice new straight bars for mine and immediately turned them into a bent mess. I guess ROP isnt that common as Ive not read about this issue anywhere.

Ill be upgrading to adjustable bars at some point.

I just use the ones from TSC, but I weld a piece of angle to them to stiffen them up. As just a flat bar, they don't last long at all for me. With the angle added, I've never had one bend.

This confuses me. One should never be put in compression since the other will be in tension. The only time one would be put in compression is if you're only using one bar.

The angle will make them super stout though.

There are times that I only use one. But I've bent them using both as well.

I've bent one while using both. Think it is the wear on them resulting in some slop.

I use a Ford 3-point rake behind my 2000. It had one bracket so I got a stabilizer from TSC.s Didn't know the later 2000s used a shorter one so it bent to conform. Finally made a second bracket and got the stabs from this site. WELL worth it. Great for the York rake, too.

I don't have the numbers in front of me but there are 2 lengths used on the 3000. I run 13.6-28s on a 12" rim and use the longer ones. Longer ones help
to get implements higher off the ground also. Cat II arms will fit too....came on my used 3000 when I bought it....wider and longer.

Er ah.........missed the boat on this one....you said stabilizer bars........ course it's 3 AM and I am about to go back to bed and finish off the night's sleep. I bought a couple of adjustable bars at TSC....long tube like the top link.....threaded at both ends with pin holes. Need dead man (right angle plate with a dead man pin) under axle held in place with fender bolts. Work great. Just took the chains off.

Not familiar with adjustable stabilizers bars on a 6610, but on a 3000, the stabilizers bars must be the same length as the lift arms so they can travel in the same arc as the lift arms when raising and lowering. The aftermarket stabilizer under fender brackets generally have four holes per bracket and the stabilizer pin must be mounted in the hole directly across from the lower pin of the three point arm. If you find that you can only install one stabilizer bar, it might be the stabilizer pins are in the wrong hole in the under fender bracket. The center hole to center hole distance on the stabilizer bars must match the center hole to center hole distance of your three point arms. Also, stabilizer bars should not be used with ground engaging implements such as a plow or a disc.

I Just got my flashlight to go outside and check where my pins are located and it just started raining....end of that. I'm thinking I am in the rearward hole
vertical part of the RT angle bracket toward the outside putting the pins pointing toward the center of the tractor. If you get it wrong just play with it till you find the right combination. Your tractor may already have the brackets installed. If not I think TSC sells the brackets. I know they sell the pins which are short, much shorter than the lift pins on implements.

I’m 90 % sure that I have the brackets on both sides (the brackets also have different holes).

The 4 holes are for doing what "Michford" said....getting the arcs of the brace and lift arms on the same curve. Just put the pin in a hole, run the lift up
and down and if it starts binding, move to another till it works.
