I have an 83 Ford 340A industrial tractor with a backhoe. The hoe attaches to its frame with 3 bolts on either side - one on top and two below. The two below travel thru a plate and into the hoe frame. I'm assuming someone tried to take the backhoe off at one point because one of the two lower bolts is snapped off, the plate is missing and the remaining bolt is screwed directly into the frame but without the plate it does nothing at all. To make things even more odd, the remaining bolt has a head that looks as if someone rounded it and then carefully cut down each of the six sides to get a 13/16" socket on it. The bolt has 8.5 threads per inch. I went online and read that "I must have measured it wrong or the bolt has been worn" or some such, so I measured again with a vernier caliper. 8.5 TPI. Outer diameter of the treads is between .976 and .980". The threads are in perfect condition and once loosened, the bolt turned out from the approximately 3/4" thick plate it was threaded into very easily. So far I haven't been able to source a replacement bolt. I have the 340A manuals but they don't include the backhoe and not sure if I bought the backhoe manual it would list the attachment bolts. Anyone have any ideas where I can find this bolt. Thank you.
UPDATE: I assumed on an 83 Ford it was US but it might be a 24mm. Will provide an update when I know.
