Ford 3600 ignition switch question

Installed new ignition switch on my Ford 3600 and has been working fine for couple of months. Then just stopped. Got nothing when turning to start. So pulled switch to start checking, first going to check battery in hub and guess touched or got close enough to neutral safety switch hub with tester that cause a spark and starter tried to kick in. After that switch works perfectly. Not complaining, but curious what happened. Thoughts? Thanks

No clue what happened or what a hub is in the electrical system, must be lost in translation. If I was betting I'd say your NS switch is the problem like most of them.

lol. Sorry old IT guy. By hub referring to the wire connectors on the ignition switch. Have cranked the tractor a dozen times since and works every time.

loose connection or going bad NSS, perhaps, can't quite understand your post!
Thx. That’s what I thinking going in but wanted to see what was going on at the switch first. Just a curiosity thing as seems like working every time now. Maybe NSS just fails like that. Never experienced one failing. My 49 Cub doesn’t have one :-)
I'm guessing the neutral safety switch had an internal connection that went bad and the spark fixed it.
😀 Well I don’t know if that’s a thing, but sure looks like that’s what happened. That’s the reason was checking to see anyone else had experienced something like that, I sure haven’t. At least I don’t need to go out in this 109 H.I. for now anyway🤞Thx

Most of them get worn and you have to jiggle the lever back and forth and the switch will work, pretty common.
Thanks. Yeah in researching I had seen that as well and gave it a good workout, but didn’t seem to resolve. Just one of those weird ones. Thx for your reply.
