Found i have block cracked for my oil getting into radiator,no water in oil..have no luck finding a bare block used...everybody says "if" i find one will need to sleeve the 3 cylinders for usually holes come through the walls and put water in the oil..quess this has caused a shortage of good blocks.can a Farmtrac block be used? What is a reasonable fix for my problem..diesel engine

Where are you located?
I have a bare 201 block with fresh sleeves and cam bearings here in the Twin Cities.
It's an older one - from a 4000.
The fellows here could tell you if it would work.

Middle of NC...been told needed to be from 1990 to 1998..mine has 1/2 head bolts...be great if it would work..mybe somebody here can say if it would

Yours should have 9/16 head bolts, these blocks were introduced in 1986.
Block from a 3910, 4610, 3930 and 4630 will work
You may want to consider purchasing a complete used engine.

Farmtrac block will not work.

Tractor is a 1991 model..was bought new...replaced the head gasket to see if that would cure problem..has 1/2 head bolts and takes a 3/4 socket to tighten
bolt...can't find a complete engine either..i'll keep trying..thank's for the info

If it has 1/2" head bolts it's the older model block of which any 192 or 201 block would work.
192 diesel was only used on the 3910 and 3930 tractors, the 201 was used on 4000, 4600, 4610, 4630 and some 3930's. It'll bolt to your 3930 and should be easier to find.
I'd call Alexanders in Tx or Mid South Tractor Salvage in Decatur, Al, they'll have what you need.

(quoted from post at 20:15:17 12/01/19) Tractor is a 1991 model..was bought new...replaced the head gasket to see if that would cure problem..has 1/2 head bolts and takes a 3/4 socket to tighten

This statement got my curiosity up so I measured the head bolts on the 94 model 3930 engine I have torn down in my shop.
The bolts measures 0.555 at the threads, the bolt head measures 3/4", BUT this is not a 1/2 head bolt, this engine does have 9/16 head bolts.

If yours has bolts that screw into the rods like this one it is the later model engine with 9/16 head bolts.
Earlier model engines had nuts that screwed onto bolts sticking thru the rods.
