anyone know approximate weight of ford 4000 diesel and gas mid 1960's year. also approximate horsepower? thanks for any help.

There were 2 different 4000's in the mid-'60's - the 4-cylinder version from '62 to '64 and the 3-cylinder from '65 to '75...which one are you needing info on? The earlier ones were about 45-48 h.p. and the later ones around 50-52. I don't have weight info right at hand.

The 4 cyl 4000 ag tractors are in the 3500 to 4000# range.

The 4 cyl 4000 industrials are 3800 to 4300#.

Add for filled tires, weights, etc.

Diesel is more than gas. SOS is more than 4spd, etc.

The 65+ 4000 is about 5000-5500# (not certain on them).

My 1963 4000 Industrial 4000 (with lighter front-end) weighs 3800 lbs. and that's with the four-cylinder 172 gas engine. If it was diesel, it'd weigh 3900 lbs.

The weight of the 3 cylinder 400's is listed on external_link as 4800 lbs., but it didn't say whether that was diesel or gas or lp, or which transmission it was weighed with.
