ford 4400 spindle problem

Both my front spindles have rusted solid. They only move with the aid of a big hammer. There is a bolt/stud that goes through the axel right next to the spindel rod. Im guessing it is there to make sure the rod won't come out. My manual does'nt show this on any of the models covered. Im wondering if this is because my 4400 may be an industrial model. (My manual covers 2000,3000,and4000 models, but only lists up to 4200. It covers all purpose, lcg, su,and row crop). Do these bolt/studs need to be removed in order to get the spindle off? My gut says yes, but my brain tells me to ask all of you first.
Thanks, Dan

you have a king pin and bushings. the bolt holds in the king pin.and it should not move or turn.. the upper and lower bushing is where they should turn on the industrials... hth... bill
