Our small construction company just purchased a Ford 445A Industrial loader-scraper, 1987 model. It has a hydraulic fluid leak coming from the left side of the tractor just below and slightly to the rear of the floor board. The leak seems to be coming from the vicinity of the clutch lever bell-crank shaft pivot/hydraulic fluid spin-on filter. It will put out a 2-foot diameter puddle over a long weekend.
Has anyone had any experience with these tractors and this kind of leak? (Do I have a common problem?) I've, of course, tightened the spin-on filter and tightened any exterior bolts in the the vicinity. The clutch operating rod is outside the differential case, but does the clutch pedal bell-crank shaft pivot go through the casting of the differential? Please tell me that I don't have to split the tractor to replace the seal.
A repair manual and a parts manual are on order. Thank you for any help/encouragement you can offer. This is our first tractor. We LOVE it.
Sincerely, ~0le
