Ford 445D Noise

I am working on a 445D Loader.There is a knocking noise when tractor is ideling.Rase RPMS and the noise goes away.It sound like it is in the transmission.Does any one have any ideas.Also I need to change water pump,do i only need to remove radiator.Can some one please tell me what the valve clearance is.
