Ford 4610 ignition switch replacement

Hello Friends,

I have a Ford 4610 with column shift (synchromesh) and ignition switch needs replacement. Could any of you tell me best way to get access to the
switch for removal. Would I have to go thru the instrument cluster or somehow from the bottom? Thanks in advance.

Easy - come in from the bottom. Remove the lower shroud and then reach one hand in and support the switch while removing the nut with the other hand. You can then pull the switch down far enough to expose the wiring. Strongly suggest disconnecting the battery before you do this to prevent inadvertent welding.
