ford 5000 fuel level sender

Thanks for all the recent help on my 65 ford 5000 restoration project. I was flushing out the fuel tank and looked inside and found 3 small plastic garbage bags. Go figure? anyway I fished out 2 of them but the 3rd one is hung up on the sending unit for fuel level. I pulled the cluster out of the dash but can't figure out how to remove the plug for the sending unit removal. It looks like a bung on a 55 gallon barrel. 3 tabs of some sort any help would be great. Thanks

Take a hammer and a BRASS punch (drift) and hammer on one of the tabs in a CCW direction. The lock ring will rotate about 1/2" and come loose from the tank.

Don't it make ya wonder how not 1 but 3 plastic bags find their way into a fuel tank?
