FORD 5000 Model # E3414E

Could someone tell me what the 34 means? It definitely is not a vineyard or narrow model. These are the correct # that are stamped above and rear of the starter. It also has the original foil tag on the hood. Thanks Mel.

Don"t Know.
My book does not list a 34 code under chassis.

E3414E

E- Later built model 5000
34- ????
1- Diesel
4- Independent 540 PTO
E-Select-O-Speed transmission

According to my documentation, 34 is a orchard chassis.

30 - Vineyard
31- Narrow
33 - Narrow Orchard
34 - Orchard

(quoted from post at 17:55:30 04/07/13) THANKS Sean! It does have down exhaust. Just where did you find the "33" & "34" #"s? Is there "32" or"35" etc.? Mel.

Another member of this forum sent me a copy of a PDF that he had gotten from a Ford Service Technician that listed most of the Ford tractor models from the 1929 9N all the way through the x930 models in 1991, although one page was missing, which looks like it was the larger models from the 7xxx, 8xxx and 9xxx series, so I don't have anything on any of those models. I arranged the data a little differently and added some information that I had gotten from other sources, plus I corrected some errors, and put together the results into own PDF file, and I have it up on a web site here:

Please feel free to download a copy. Also, please contact me if you have any information on models that aren't included, or if you see any incorrect information so I can correct it. I already have a few corrections and additions for my next revision.

I haven't seen anything to indicate that there was ever any 32 or 35 chassis designators, although there may have been special order models that used those designators, like maybe a LCG Orchard or LCG Vineyard or a Narrow Vineyard, or something else along those lines. Someone on this forum has posted some information on some of those special order models that were ordered by fleet customers like large municipalities and state highway departments and the like. I think it was Tony Jacobs, but I might be mistaken. I think I remember something about the city of Detroit having ordered a number of special order tractors for road maintenance or snow removal or something like that.
