ford 5000 super major

I have just aquired a ford 5000 super major back hoe with 5000 hours on it. It was my uncle's and he has not started it for 15 years. It ran the last time he started and he used it for the day. What should I do before I try to start it again? I am assuming drain the old diesel, change the filters..... anything else. Any tips or advise would be appreciated.

I don't even pretend to know much but I would check the air filters and make sure you have a good strong battery with really good connections.
I hope this photo of one I prepared earlier comes out, it was a real dog and took a long time to complete. Love to see some photos of the one you have.

Nice job. This one is not so nice yet. I just need to make time to start tinkering with it.
