My brother sold my father's 5000 in 1984 to buy a Massey 1100. The 5000 was a 1965 and was a nice step up from the 851.
Saturday I was playing Euchre with a group of farm friends and the topic of where our father's worked. I mentioned my father drove bus at Cattaraugus Central, one fella said what was your name, I told him and he said any relation to Tom. Well he was my brother. He said well my father bought the 5000 from him.
So they still use that ol tractor every day!!! It was a manual steer and it is on it's third steering box. He asked why the oil pressure gauge and caught me up on its history. Got a clutch change and axle seal in the past.
