ford 550

have a ford 550 backhoe,cant find the hydralic filter on it could it be in the frame work of the frontend loader?

Right hand side of tractor just in front of where you step up, you will see this housing, except it is laying down

Well i have look everwhere again no luck on finding the hydralic filter!!!!!!

my hydralic fluid tank is in the loader frame, so im lost on where the filter is!!!!!!

Are you sure you have a 550? Can you post a picture?

You've got a number missing, your tractor is a 3550, not a 550
It uses a model 735 loader
The filter is located in the bottom of the leg that the fill cap is on, it's on a plate the bolts to the bottom of that leg

Item 22 is the assembly, you'll need to drain the oil out first

Drain plug is #13, filter is #8 or 21 depending on which one you have
#8 is no longer serviced and I couldn't find a crossover for it
#21 is part # 7702218, replaced by # 86546604 $45
