Ford 600 series

Are the Ford 600 series tractors built heavy enough to safely handle a FEL(front axle, hydraulics,)or would it be better to purchase the 800 series tractor? The problem for me is the 800 series tractor would probably be overkill for what I would need it to do. I have always liked the "N" series tractors especially the 8N, but I have read a lot of information on them not being the safest tractors due to their light weight and the front axles not really designed to handle a FEL. Thanks for any input!!!

Hi the 600 series will handle a FEL but of course common sense should be followed for safe operation this of course applies to all tractors and FEL's

I had a 641 with a ford 703 loader. It had the HD front end. This was marked with a sticker on the dogleg. Besides the one I had I have only run across one other one. I'm not saying that they are rare just that I haven seen many although I don't ran accross many 600/601 with loaders. That other tractor was also a 601 series. I don't know if the HD front end was available on the 600 series or if it started with the 601 series.

front end of a 6xx and a 8xx ar ehte same.

8xx has a heavier rear end.

many people run loaders on them even though they are less than ideal.
