my friend has what i think is a ford 600. he wants to sell it, what i need to know is where the hell is the serial number on it? i have deere tractors and know nothing about these fords.

Left hand side of the tractor on top of the bell housing there is a flat area with the model number,on top, and serial number stamped in.

HTH

Vito

Left side below the battery box. If you lay your left hand on the starter and your right hand on the clutch pedal and look down you should see a flat spot and there is where both model number and series number is. The top number is the model that is is. There is 5 plus models. Example is.
640 which would be a 4 speed transmission
XFRTZE in numbers is the serial number and will look sort of like I just posted. Be caeful how you clean that area to read the numbers because they can be scraped off pretty easy

post pics if unsure. amny people miss ID all the 53-64 tractors anyway... i've seen plenty of 8n jubilee 600's before...

If it has only 3 forward gears then it also has a flat head engine and is in fact a 2N or 9N not other ford tractor has the 3 speed so you do not have a 640 no way no how
