Ford 6000 SOS labored reverse

6000 select o speed, R1 and R2 work and dont slip but both gears make the engine lug hard and it feels as if the brakes are applied.
Is this normal?

R-2 will pull down a bit more on my three 6000 diesels. Best get a service manual and start with adjusting the three bands and see if that helps.

Some engine lug is normal, especially with cold oil. If everything else works OK, I wouldn't fret too much over it.
