Ford 601 red paint

What is the correct shady of red for a 601 ford. Is it the same shade as ford red that Tractor supply sells?

I can't say anything about the Tractor Supply paint as we don't have one in our area. The color used on the 601 is an orange-red and not the vermillion red used on the earlier hundred series. TISCO sells a paint that is supposed to be the correct color. You can also go to your local CNH dealer and find Ford's paint for the XX1 series. They sell it in spray can, quart and gallon. I believe it is an acrylic enamel. If you want a better quality paint you can buy a couple of rattles cans, spray some on some metal and have an auto paint store match. If you go the link below you'll see photos of the XXO and XX1 Fords. Compare the colors. Hope this helps.

Here are some PPG's Ford paint codes from Rod's website. You may be able to get a small sample
mixed and brush it on some metal to see which color matches your tractor. Hal
PS: I would use either PPG's, Dupont's, or Martin Senour's paint. Sherwin Williams has it too. I used Dupont's Centari light cream acrylic enamel and New Hollands acrylic enamel blue on this old Wards garden tractor. The light cream was a mismatch.
