Does this tractor look good enough to only have 117 hrs? If the amp gauge looked as good as the tach, I might consider it.
640

I don't know how to enlarge pix, but even in the reduced size, I see a new tach, paint overspray on the front tires, a dent in the right fender, and crumpled rear fender, rear wheels mounted wrong side out, and a quite bowed tow bar.

Look for play in the steering, wear on the pedals, and accumulated crud in the hard-to-pressure-wash areas under the battery and below the fan.

Good luck.

Looks to be a nice tractor but 117 hours is simply not believable, especially with a replacement tach.

fairly premium money IMHO.

looks to have ps and a genny.

I'd check those.

if it starts, runs, charges, holds good oil pressure, has ps. no water in oil, oil in water. average brakes .. I'd offer less and see what happens.

It's right in the zone pricewise for these parts.
I see it has a hook for pulling it out of the field when it quits. Should be standard equipment on these fords.

reliable? I'd go that the prior series are some of the most reliable.

at least the average man can rebuild their carb with it setting on the tire using a hand cut gasket, put it back together and have the thing work correctly.. unlike those very picky holley carbs....

Naa was the end of the axle nut. 00 series had the nutless hub..

while that unit MIGHT be a early unit produced in 54 for the 55 model year.. .. I maybee doubt it. It has power steering which is kinda rare on 00 series.. and was available as an option.. I'd almost expect it as a slightly later option however...

It could have been swapped in or retrofitted..e tc..

can't say much without seeing trans stamping and machine castings..e tc.

migth be a mutt.. etc..

Pretty funny! That is the first thing I thought. I think if I was trying to sell, I would take the chain off.

Hi Ken, Yes,this would have to be a 1955 (or 56-57) It's possible it was built in 54 as with the
cars, but all parts books show '55 or up or any
official Ford books. Chuck

Yeah, my comment was meant to be funny.
I would take the hook off before I sold it too. What would you need one that big on the front for anyway?

Agree. The running boards would also be wrong for an early production model. '55's (including any built in late '54) would have flat running boards. This one has the upturned front like '56-up.

Nice looking tractor and with power steering!! I'd be on it like a chicken on a June-bug if it were closer by.

As others have indicated, the Proof Meter has been replaced and it's likely not showing the correct hours.

Note the needle in the below photo of the original gauge face.

The first line about the hundred series on John Smith's "Identifying Old Ford Tractors" web site says:

In late '54 Ford introduced the new expanded line up of the hundred series tractors for '55.

He also lists which serial numbers were made in 1954 as 1955 model year hundred series tractors.

always hard to tell from online pics, but it looks pretty good.
shame about that fender.
6*0-6*1's are popular and expensive here too.
That price is at the high end, so I would expect it
to need.....nothing, when I checked it out.

pretty funny on the hours used.
my 63 4000 still has its original working Ford branded-dated
proofmeter (lots of hours), but I don't even believe that one

No argument here!
The 640 hour meter is only accurate at 1,515 RPM,
so I wouldn't count on an original to be right either.
More a best guess for maintenance periods.

I wouldn't believe one that low though original or not.
Best case would be if it were changed when the engine
was rebuilt and indicated the approximate hours on the rebuild.

I am down here in TN, and I paid $1500 for mine, but with no PS. Those are not original hours on a replacement tach as others have said. Look at the front tires.
