Ford 641 clutch stuck

My Ford 641 has been sitting for a while and the other day I fired it up to move and could not get the clutch to release to place in gear. I jacked up the back end and tried to use the brakes with the clutch depressed and still could not get the clutch to release.
Anyone have an idea short of splitting the tractor to release the clutch?

thx. Dave

Had same problem on a 4000SU that sat for 20+/- years. Tried warming with magnetic block heater... Took starter off, to tap on flywheel...
(both while clutch peddle was blocked down and up) Tried driving around barn yard in low gears, stomping on brakes with clutch peddle
depressed. Nothing changed. Went to drive to another farm (hopes of getting some heat into the system). Put in high road gear, pressed
clutch and brakes, and the clutch came free. Don't know if previous efforts helped or not, but bottom line is that it did not break free
until in high gear. I'd need to do the math, but I think that brakes might place more (reverse direction) torque on the clutch, when in
highest gears. Good luck!

Thanks for the thoughts and proceedures. I will try to drive the tractor around like you did in high gear and tap brakes with the clutch depressed and see if it will break free. The tractor has been in dry storage for about a year. Cant think it would be rusted but you never know. thanks again, just did not want to split tractor yet. Dave

A bit of a follow up for future reference.... After not driving the above 4000SU for a few months, went to get out of barn. Clutch stuck again. Tried breaking free in low gears. No luck. Tried in higher gears... Broke free, and works fine.
