Ford 642 question for Haley

On each side of the combine right above the chaff fan there is an opening that runs crossways the width of the machine, with a decal that says 'clean here'. If I ever clean it, it fills back up packed hard with chaff within the first hopper. Is yours the same way, or is something wrong with our machine to make it fill that fast?

My oldest 642 does it pretty bad if you completely clean it.I recently replaced the rubber strips on the grain pan frame in my newest 642 and it seems to have helped a bunch.I usually clean just as far as I can reach in every morning on each side and dont worry about it the rest of the day.Ive never had either one of them build so much that it caused a problem.My parts book shows a rubber strip in between the screens at the front close to where the fan starts to blow air in but I havent had time to change either one of mine to see if it helps.Hope this helps.
