I am restoring a 1955 Ford 660 Tractor that I acquired from my father. The tractor sat for about 20 years so it's become quite a project. After changing the oil, plugs, wires, points and condenser, rebuilding the starter, I have the tractor running. The carburetor is making a popping sound, but the engine is running relatively smooth. No backfire from the exhaust. I did rebuild the carb recently, but did not replace the venturi tube and I noticed it was cracked. Has anyone experienced something like this? Also, when I play with the jets, it doesn't seem to help.
