Ford 6640 Loader

I have a Ford 6640 cab two wheel drive tractor. According to the Tractor Data information about this model, a Ford 7411 loader is listed as the loader for it.

I have found a Ford 7413 loader for sale. According to what I have found about this loader and on the Tractor Data site, it would fit a ford 8240. The attachments listed for the 8240 list the 7413 loader and the 7411 loader.

So I assume it may fit on my 6640. Questions I hope someone can answer is the 7413 too large of a loader for the 6640? Do the 6640 and 8240 share the same chassis and/or would the mounts for the 7413 on the 8240 work for my tractor?

Thanks for any information.

The 6640 has a 4 cylinder engine and the 8240 has a 6 cylinder engine, so the 8240 is longer from the front of the bolster to the rear mounting point, which appears to be the large bolt holes in the bosses on the side of the bell housing. So if that loader would fit both models, I would think that it would need a different mounting kit for the frame of the loader to mount to the rear mounting point on the bell housing and still mount up on the front of the bolster, so I just checked out the parts site and sure enough they list two mounting kits, one for the 5640, 6640 and 7740, which are all 4 cylinder tractors, and another mounting kit for the 7840, 8240 and 8340, all of which are 6 cylinder tractors. So if you can find the proper mounting kit for your 6640, the loader should bolt right up, but it won't with the mounting kit for the 8240.

I'm thinking a 7413 loader would be a beast on a 6640. If I'm not mistaken, the 7413 was designed for the 6-cylinder tractors
such as the TWs.

I once put a 7412 loader on a 7610, and it was plenty big for that tractor.

Don't know if I can help here but I'm putting (when I find the time) a loader on a 1500 that is probably a little oversized. Weight wise I don't think it has a whole lot of difference between it and one that fits. The key is not to load the bucket with more than it will handle.
