I just bought a Ford 7000 w/dual power. I can"t find the serial number tag anywhere on the tractor, but it must be either a 74 or 75? my question is that at an Idle there is a random tapping noise in the transmission, if you push in the clutch it stops. my older 500o uses tran oil in the tranny, this i guess uses hyro oil from the rear end. Any ideas?

Could be anywhere from '72 to '75. Serial, model, and unit numbers are stamped on teh bellhousing just above and to the rear of the starter. They are also on the foil tag on the underside of the hood (above the battery), if the tag is still there. Can't help you with the noise, but yes, it does have a common sump with the tranny sharing oil with the rear end and hydraulics. Good tractors - I think you'll like it.
