Ford 7209 FEL

I have a Ford 3930 with a Ford 7209 FEL. I have a hose leaking that goes to joystick. Not any room for access without removing cover. Any easy way to get cover off? Fixing to look into it. Thanks

As stout as that cover is, does the joystick actually come out the bottom if you remove the right bolts?

Don’t know yet. Was hoping to get some info if there’s an easy solution. I’m thinking it might.

Just looking at your pictures it looks like you start by removing everything that is in a hole in that cover, before you even think about removing the cover, like the four hoses with the quick couplings.

I had my off last spring, if my memory serves me right the cover facing the tractor comes off with three screws. For some reason yours looks closer to tractor hood than mine! I'll look tomorrow and try to get a picture. I can tell you those little swivel gizmos on joystick are 65$ a piece at NH!!

No, a lot of stuff stuffed under stick! All the hoses go from stick to ports, you would end up tearing the hole box apart!

Think it’s a hose that maybe loose. If the end needs replaced I have enough slack I could get a new end put on.

I know pictures suck! To take back off, No. To pull joystick far enough to work on it, yes. Mine is mounted to tractor with two 3/4" bolts, so no big deal to remove the mounting for joystick. Removing hoses to loader at couplers is almost necessary to pull joystick far enough away from tractor to work on it! At least on mine! Remove hoses from 4 couplers, unbolt support to tractor frame, then remove back cover and you should be able to access your hoses under joystick!

Removed the two bolts. Housing sits down on a square tube. The bolts hold it in place. Disconnected hoses and have better access. Leaking connection has an angled swivel connection. Looks like been replaced earlier. Going to get a straight fitting and think it should be fine. Thanks for the responses.
