Ford 755 hoe swing post

The swing chain ended up braking in three different spots. Does anyone know how to tell what the part number of the swing post would be? Apparently there’s 2 different numbers. Would that be for the hoe or something else? The hoe and loader were assembled in 1966 or 1967

From the parts descriptions it looks like boom length is a main factor in determining the swing post used.

Hi Mike, You say you broke the chain so the parts book will be your friend here and you won't need the swing post number for that. If the tractor is really a 755 it will have been made from 1979 thru the '80's. That chain probably is not available new.

The chain has two part numbers depending on the post, but the post part number is determined by the digging depth. Also, the chain was sold as two separate sections, labelled 17 & 18 in the parts drawing. The 755 had a 15' depth, so it used chain section #17 in the parts drawing with part number 7704901 and chain section #18 in the parts drawing with part number 7704900. Messicks.com claims to have one of the #17 chains in stock and claims that they can get the #18 part in 3-7 business days.
