Ford 772 loader

Is a Ford 772 loader heavy enough for a 5610 tractor? I have an old Ford industrial loader on the tractor at this time. Good loader but if the 772 is a better loader, I would like to upgrade.

The 772 is a farm loader that was used on the 5000 tractors so it could be used on a 5610 but it would be a down grade from the industrial loader.

I have a 772 on my 5600. I'd say it's all about condition and age of your industrial loader to know which is an upgrade. My loader frame is welded in a half dozen places and it's pretty sloppy at the pins, but in good condition it might be better than the loader you are running currently.

My old industrial loader has been welded, leaks, patched up, all done before I got it, but it is stout. I have picked up some heavy loads. Just thought the 772 would be in better condition. Don't know yet, I will have to look at it and see. I am concerned about the lifting capacity of the 772.

772 was probably built for smaller tractors - 3000, 4000 size. Sure you could mount it on a 5000 size tractor but it would be rather light duty for that size of tractor.

Repair you Industrial loader and Keep it , 772 lifing Capacity is only around the 1000 lb mark and very weak and but was only designed for light duty use on tractors with AG front axles that were also light duty so that it would break them . Tony

Hello Mark , Do you still work for a New Holland Dealer or was it Family owned ? Do you deal with DPNI or the DEPOT much ? I have lost two more good Dealers and the ones near by are not that good as for locating parts . Thanks Tony

Yes I do still work for a NH dealer, Union Farm Equipment Inc. in Union Maine. You helped us out with an Elenco we worked on a little while ago. Send an E-mail to [email protected] or call 1-800-935-7999 and I'm sure the parts department will be glad to help you.

The 772 was used on 2000 to 5000 and when you consider the damage done to the industrial loader on that tractor, think what will happen to 772 light duty farm loader.

I think the 772 was built during both the thousand series and x600 series. 1976 sales literature lists the 772 as fitting the following models: 231LCG, 531LCG, 2600, 3600, 4100, 4600SU, 4600, 5600, 6600, and 7600. Lift is listed as 2500 lbs., with a 4000 lb. breakaway. There was also a 772A for the 2600, 3600, 4100, 4600 and 4600SU, with a 2460 lift and 3800 breakaway, and a 772QT for 4600-7600 models. The loaders would, of course, fit equivalent prior models.
That said, I doubt it would be an upgrade. I had one on my 4600 for a number of years. It belonged to a neighbor who used it a little on his 4600 before that. The original owner had it on a 3000. It had a few welds when I got it, and quite a few more when I sold it. Probably 98% of my use for it was moving round bales, and it's frame did not like being pushed near it's maximum lift so often. I can't imagine it lasting any time at all on a 7600-size tractor.

I think your numbers (max load/breakaway) are more in line with numbers I have seen.
I have that 772 I want to put on my 4000 someday but would not even consider mounting it if they only had 1K lifting ability.

I never weighed any of my bales, but I -know- the high moisture bales are way over 1K.... some will make the back end of the 4600 (loaded 16.9x30's, but no cast) very light. Guy who owns the baler claims 1800-2000 lbs. for typical high moisture bales.

Hello Mark , I thought you were at a dealer in New York for some reason . I also bought an Elenco from you guys 4 or 5 years ago but I had a friend pick it up for me . Thanks Tony
