Ford 801 valves

Not sure exactly how long ago, my dad put at least
new rings in neighbors 801 4cyl gas. May have
touched up valves, we don?t recall. Anyways, put
back together and it ran ok and sent home. Last
week he brought it back only running on two
cylinders-pulled plugs, compression gage, no
compression 1&2. First suspected bad head gasket.
However on pulling valve cover found #2 intake
push rod bent, and both intakes valves 1&2 sticking.
Haven't yet pulled head, but thinking thats the next
step?
Any other ideas or has anyone seen something
similar?

I would suspect stale gas gummed up the valve stems an caused them to stick. If you are lucky and the valves are not bent, you may be able to free them up with patience and penetrating oil. Then clean the tank out and put in fresh gas. If the valves are bent there is no choice but to pull the head.

We have seen a few instances here on YT of both valves stems and push rods getting bent due to stale gas.
