Ford 841 hydraulics

Ford 841 tractor. When using the 3 point lift. I have hydraulic oil streaming out from the pump relief valve housing on the bottom of the tractor. I took the cover off and drained all the oil. There is a spot where the pump relief valve is that looks to be cut for an o ring, there was not one. There is also a pin that had an old o ring on it. I found an oring for that spot under the pump relief valve and also found an o ring that seemed to be a perfect fit for the pin and made a new gasket for the plate. I put it all back together and primed the pump and same result. The lift will operate but as soon as I lift the quadrant lever oil begins streaming from around the plate. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
