Ford 8730 Transmission error

I have a Ford 8730 that will not down shift. It always defaults to 7th gear when the key is cut off and then back on. It will move forward and reverse and will up shift. It s giving error code U3 and while driving it gives error code P5. I also can not get it into calibration mode. I assume I need to get the codes fixed before it will calibrate. Does anyone have any idea what these codes mean. I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Put this on the Ford board further down on this site, address it to Bern, he knows the big Fords pretty well.
