My 1948 Ford 8 n. Put new carburetor on it and it still sputters when you open throttle?

Welcome to the forum! Check your spark quality first.
An open air spark checker is about $8 at the local parts store.
Spark should jump a quarter inch gap in open air.

If spark is good, check your fuel flow. With the plug removed from
the bottom of the carb, turn the gas on and catch it in a jar.
It should run a pint, in a fairly steady stream, in about two minutes.
Check that gas for dirt and/or water.

If it doesn't run that fast, there are three screens to check, one
in the elbow going into the carb, one at the top of the sediment
bowl between the glass bowl and the housing and one on top of
the housing inside the tank. Leave that one for last. See two turns.

Make sure you have plenty of gas in the tank, more than two or
three gallons and only open the sediment bowl valve two full turns.

Probably not a carb issue. Did you check the 'new' carb? Don't assume they are good to go out of the box. Todays aftermarket clone models aren't. Do the fuel flow test as suggested. These N's were designed so that all major parts could be rebuilt and used over and over and over again. I've got my original Marvel Schebler disassembled, and had bought an incorrect rebuild kit for it, so I just bought a new carb.

PM me with a price to rebuild this, and maybe I will ship it for you to rebuild.
