FORD 961

[Doug Shaw]

DID THEY MAKE A FRONT WEIGHT FOR A 961? SEEN PICTURES THAT LOOK LIKE A CAST WEIGHT HANGING OFF THE FRONT!

[Vito]

They made a cast iron weight box that had 6 48 lb weights inside.

Is there any around?

You will see them once in a great while, the set seems to bring $800-$1000.

More often you will see the box w/o weights that will still fetch a few hundred dollars.

[Texas!]

Some unrecalled tractor salvage yard has a complete setup on Fleabay pretty regularly with a Buy It Now price of $1600. Apparently there are very few people willing to pay $1600 for the set.

[Dean]

Complete sets are not common and expensive.

The going rate for a complete set is $1,000 - $1,200.

Depending upon the amount of weight needed, you might wish to consider a set of front wheel weights (approximately 100 lbs. per wheel).

Check salvage yards in your area. It can help to say where you are located on here because shipping weights adds considerably to the cost, and someone may be near you with a set. I have one, not looking to sell, but everything has it's price.

Where are you? In central Iowa I have the box, the weights, and I think a couple xtra weights I'd throw in for $800. A hinge ear is partially broken, but it's hidden on the back side- could easily be welded if you wanted to.

IM IN CENTRAL OHIO, WILL CK SOME JUNK YARDS CLOSE TO HOME FIRST, DONT REALLY NEED ONE BUT THOUGHT IT LOOKED COOL, GOT BRACKET FOR LOADER ON THERE NOW WHICH LOOKS OK

another option if you know a talented metal worker is to have one made.
