Ford 971 Exhaust

Hi guys & gals-

We just picked up our Ford 971 from Walthill Service. They rebuilt the splines for us and did a wonderful job. See pic.

Now it's on to our exhaust. See pic.

I need to replace the muffler and tail pipe for our tractor as the exhaust is shooting thru the radiator causing the black soot on the front, top right side of the radiator. See pic.

My question is, can I have the tail pipe route down and out the bottom/backside of the tractor instead of the top? (in the trucking world, we call this the "weed burner")

I had actually had them fix the splines on the tractor. I should have had them do the exhaust while there but didn't.

Be advised that the SOS tailpipe is not the same as that used on tractors with gear type transmissioins.

It will hold up for awhile but I would not work it too hard.
