Ford dearborn model 724-725 loader

I have a 1964 or 65 ford 2000 diesel, light industrial tractor with a 724 loader that I'm looking for a hydraulic filter for. Ford part number 290417.
These seem hard to find or obsolete.
What have of you folks done for a replacement?

I had no luck finding a filter, nor the
base for the newer style pleated filter. I
modified my base plate and made a new cap
to accept the newer, taller pleated
filter. More work than I wanted to do but
the loader works perfectly now.

Thats a cool mod. The center rod had to be extended too? Did you set the spring at the same measurment as original for the bypass?
The newer filter is more readily available? Taller and smaller in diameter?

Yes on all accounts. New filter is a WIX 51590
