Ford Disc - any value?

Scrap it or sell it? The scrapers are adjustable. Kind of a neat feature. One wing was robbed for its blades. The other would supply blades and scraper parts for the main frame. Any interest? Comments? Junk it or advertise it? Should go to a collector if its worth anything. Any guesses to its age?

Ford operated an assembly plant in North Omaha for 16 years until it closed in 1936.

Then there is an ad for "The Omaha Disc" in the Sioux Center News on Jan. 13, 1949. The ad read, in part:
"The Omaha Disc has John Deere boxings and holding
ends. Will take John Deere replacement parts.
Can be had in tandem or single action, in 15,18 or
21 ft. size— 16 or 18" blades."
And that is all I've been able to find so far that matches what you have on your disc. It looks like a fine find to me. But, what the heck do I know?

I wouldn't scrap it.
Cut the other wing off and sell the center.
All the fellows with old Cases, JDs, Allis, Farmalls, or Fords for that matter etc that don't have 3 pt. still glad to find one cheap for their deer plots and gardens.
How are the bearings in it? Bearings make or break an old disc like that.
If the bearings are shot then sell the discs. I'm not sure but would bet it has 7/8" square axles on it. That size blade is getting hard to find.
Also, make this post on Implement Alley here at YT. Lot more readers there of all colors than just the Ford Ners.
Not many old discs like that left in this part of the country as all the disc wheels got welded onto pipes for dock legs at the lake.
Good photos.

It's worth much more as a piece of equipment than as scrap.

It will have wooden bearings, usually made of maple. If you have turning skills, replacing a wooden bearing won't be difficult. Making one with a table saw and a few sharp chisels will also work.

If everything is in good working condition, that disk is worth about $25-$50 a foot up here in Central MN.

Good luck,

Thanks for the comments so far. I don't want to scrap it or get much for it. A Ford or Fordson collector should own it. Any around the area in NE SD ?
