I have a Ford 2300 (Ranger engine) on a chipper. It is the one with fuel injection and dual spark plugs. On this there is only one coil pack, and I can find no sign of a harness that would have fed a second coil pack. Were the industrial engines set up this way? Or,has somebody in the past lopped off the harness for the second coil pack somewhere. It has been in use running on the 4 plugs instead of the 8.I really don't like computer controlled engine management on an old chipper.I bought it with a bad engine, but it turned out to be a broken timing belt adjuster. It is a non-interference engine,so an adjuster and a belt took care of that part. Two years ago the price to recore the radiator was $600.I didn't do it,and last week the price was just over $1100.Altec is not helpful on machines once they hit 20 years old.
