have converted to 12 volt followed wiring to a tee still have no power at solnoid have it on batt. side but not going through or at started button what have i missed power every were else
used a new 12 volt solanoid is it wrong one just got it at napa dealer

Try reinstalling the original solenoid. Odds are that the one that you got from NAPA isn't correct for that tractor. The original solenoid should work fine on 12 volts. Have you either added a ballast resistor to the coil, or replaced the coil with one that does not need an external resistor on 12 volts? It will start and run on the original 6 volt coil after being converted to 12 volts, but the points will burn up in short order without the ballast resistor or a replacement coil designed fr 12 volts. The original 6 volt coil will also have its life shortened without a ballast resistor, but not as quickly as the points.

Why did you replace the RELAY again? A weak or dead battery will be first sign when starter motor just clicks. Get battery tested first at a local ALT/GEN shop under
load on their machine. While battery is being tested, go thru entire wiring system per OEM Manuals. Your original owners manual has the wiring for your system. Best to
get copies of WIRING PICTOGRAMS by JMOR - has all the CORRECT ways to wire the N's whether 6V or 12V. Don't Next verify you have the correct parts. NAPA isn't the best
choice, and it depends on where you buy from. The NAA Starter Motor Relay (SOLENOID) is part number 21A-11450 or FAB-11450-B, a 3-WIRE Connection device, SEE link.
Now, what was wrong with the original 6V/POS GRN system? Did it run like that before you switched? If it won't run on 6V what makes you think it will on 12V???
Define ...to a t... Many 12V switcheroo jobs are done incorrectly, by too many 'know-it-alls' who don't know jack squat really. 99.98% of all non-starting issues are
due to incorrect wiring. Get ESENTIAL MANUALS, If you don't understand the OEM 6V system, how can you understand the 12V setup? If RELAY is correct, new or old, check
wiring. Often wire connections get crossed. With 12V, everything electrical is the same as the OEM 6V system except: a) 12V BAT, b) GEN & VR removed and an ALT, 1-Wire
10SI is best, c) Coil needs an external 1-OHM Resistor if 6V, swap 6V Coil for a 12V Coil and delete the extra resistor, d) Distributor, ignition switch, AMMETER,
starter motor remain unchanged. GEN or ALT must have a belt tensioner. Lighting kits were never factory features - always dealer optional accessories and many were
wired by farmers incorrectly. When going from 6V to 12V you need to replace your lamps with 12V parts or else at first power up on switch, you will blow the 6V lamps.
Industry Standard 12V Sealed Beam Headlamps are p/n 4419. 12V Taillight bulb is #67. I advise to start with battery test and verify wiring is correct via manuals and
you have all the correct part numbers. Take no shortcuts. If all is wired correctly, you shouldn't have any starting issues electrically.

*NOTE: FOR A 12-VOLT CONVERSION, USING THE OEM 6-VOLT COIL, YOU NEED TO ADD AN EXTERNAL 1-OHM, IN-LINE RESISTOR IN THE COIL CIRCUIT AS SHOWN. DELTE TEH EXTRA RESITOR
IF THE 6V COILS IS SWAPPED OUT FOR A 12V COIL.

**NOTE: THIS NOT A RESISTOR. IT IS THE TERMINAL JUNCTION BLOCK, P/N 8NNN-14448 USED FROM '50 TO '64.

he correct solenoid will only pull in when power is applied to the correct large terminal and the small terminal. reverse large terminal connections from proper and result is no go!
