Ford loader control valve

I am needing a couple things here, my control valve leaks from both control knobs plus I have got to weld a couple of cracked welds on the frame that are also leaking, I’m not sure how difficult it will be to put new o rings or seals in the control valve or if I would be better off to buy a new one. I’m not opposed to buying a new control valve but I’m not 100% sure on what to buy if anyone on here could help me I would greatly appreciate it, the only thing I can find is a tag on the left arm that is stamped I9-426 and the serial is 1380

I9-426 is the frame for the 730 series loader that was used when mounting that loader onto a 3400 or a 4 cylinder 2000 or 4000. I believe that the spool seal is a machined metal-on-metal fitment and when it leaks at the handle end of the spool it cannot be fixed with o-rings. The parts drawing only shows one o-ring on each spool, which is at the other end of the spool where the rear cap covers the springs and other parts inside. So you will need to replace the entire valve.

Do you have a part number, I think I have found one but it only shows a picture of one side and I can’t rotate it so I would actually be guessing

Looks like any commodity loader valve would work. You would have to replace some of the hard lines with hoses. I would defjnitly use a valve with joystick control rather than the two stick arrangenent. Prices starting at $250 for a two stick and $300 for joystick.

Other than the connections for the lines, pretty much any loader valve should work. As TheOldHokie said, swap the hard lines for hoses with the correct ends for the connections on the new valve. I replaced the control valve of the Freeman loader on my 4000, which had the same dual levers as yours to a Prince Joystick valve. I just had to swap out the lines for ones with the correct fittings.

If you want to use the original lines, the part number for the original valve was 7701707 if it didn't have the float position, and 7701707 if it did have the float position.

Thank you

It looks like what’s on there now but if it’s not I will just send it back, it’s hard to order online looking at pictures that you can’t even rotate
It will work. But you cant order loader valves by physical appearance. You need to know at least a little something about their hydraulic specifications.

The 730 series loaders were equipped with either 14 or 20 GPM pumps. Your new valve is rated at 25 GPM so appropriate for the 20 GPM pump but not the best match for a 14 GPM pump.
