Ford naa adjust issue

Need help..my 3 point wont raise..so took lid off..replaced pistion and o ring
now when i try to do adjustments..Unable cause prob 1.5 inches freeplay.. no way i cant get 3/16 and 1/4 inch settings..wondering why so much freeplay...

i'm guessing the control rod is bent. it's a common issue.
