Ford Seat Cover

Did a Ford 801 Tractor ever come from the dealership back in the day with seat covers (Cushion)? I'm trying to finish up my restoration on my 1960 Ford 861 and thought that maybe a seat cover would look really nice on my rest-o-ride seat. In my parts manual is says that there was a seat cushion that was blue from 63 and up but there's also a side note under it that says that it was an accessory between 53/62, is that correct? If so what color should they be? I've seen either a red or black seat cover.

I looked in my Ford 4 Cylinder Tractor 1953/64 Parts list and found the item you referenced as Part Number C3NN-400-E. There appears to be a typographical error in that it's listed as a PIN ASSY, I think that should be PAN ASSY. So the complete description is PAN ASSY., Cushion (Blue). So I think this is a combination of the seat pan and cushion (note comma). The C3 at the start of the part number tells that the part wasn't designed until 1963. The next line indicated it can be used as an accessory on previous tractor series 1953 - 1962. However obviously it wasn't an accessory back then but rather retroactively compatible.

In the 601 and 801 Owners Manual there is a list of Accessories and Special Items. A seat cushion is not listed.

The aftermarket seat cushions you find, typically 8N401R, seem to be universal for 19" pan seats for 8N through XX1 series tractors. I think many people use these to dress up their tractor and cushion their behind. Whether they are period correct well ???. Seems most of the people who worked at Ford dealerships back then are no longer with us.

I had a red and white Ford seat cover at one time. I can't imagine them ever coming on a tractor except as a special from an individual dealer. Steiners has them with the 'Ford" logo.
