Ford SOS - Splines

Hi there-

We have a Ford SOS that the splines were nicely smoothed out and its WHINED oh so bad. We took the tractor over to Walthill Service in Walthill, NE. These fellas are the best at working on Ford's is my understanding. I'm no mechanic per se, but from the looks of these pics, its look as though they know what they are doing. Thoughts?

That's what happens to most sos transmissions

I had something similar done once. Put it all back together and had oil leaking out of the cotter pin hole about 10 minutes after I started it. Pulled it back apart and found oil coming out past the steel ball which is pressed into the front of the shaft. Evidently all of the welding on the shaft had caused the seal to break loose. Ended up welding that area closed.
