Neighbor has a TW-35 mfwd series 2, with a allied loader, duals, three remotes, brakes work great, needs rear tires, ac doesn"t work(maybe just needs freon) and the sheet metal is rough where he has run into things and it needs a cab kit i believe the tach to be correct as it was working while i test drove it 2290hrs only had one leak coming from where one of the steel lines to the remotes goes into the rear end, I"ve never been around too many fords and keep reading horror stories about these I can get this tractor for $8500 it"s a rough looking tractor but i believe it to be a diamond in the rough should i go for it?

You do know that the proof meters go around on those things....
The price suggests it's been around.

I'd be mostly concerned about getting it hot and see how it runs, how the hydraulics work when it's hot, if it's got any brakes left and how well the dual power shifts. Should be nice and crisp.
For the kind of money stated I'd really be wondering what's really wrong with it for that size tractor with MFWD and loader to be that cheap.

I never thought that the hour meter could be rolled over the brakes worked great and would lock the wheels up but I haven"t been around one of these before and didn"t know how the dual power worked so that fact was over looked i never thought it would be in the floor until i came home and looked it up it also had murphy switches mounted in the cab but the more i think to wear out the tires like they were i believe it would"ve took more hours than that
thanks for the reply

Very well could be 12000+ hours on it. The tach sending unit could have been broken and not clocking hours. Does this have the digital dash I assume? Look for repairs to the wires leading to the tach sending unit at the back of the injector pump. Any repairs there lead to the tack not working at some point.

Is the diamond tread pattern worn off on the clutch petal? How does the floor mat look under the clutch petal? Any holes worn in it?

Pictures please!
