I am trying to rebuild a 1966 Ford 3000 gas tractor, 3 cylinder, and it looks as if I may have to replace the original Holley carburetor (tractor will not start and fuel pours from float area). Upon disassembly the needle is worn. Carburetor looks like it has never been rebuilt. I have heard good things about the Zenith, but when I went to order it I was informed that there was a cable linkage to the throttle (if I understood correctly), while my old Holley has a ball linkage. Furthermore the Zenith has a ball linkage on the choke and my Holley has a cable. The linkages seem to be turned around from what I currently have (Holley No. 12R-3589B ; LIST 3655). Has anyone else seen a similar problem converting from Holley --> Zenith. If there is a difference in the linkages, how difficult is the work around? Thanks.

You do need a unique Zenith and I don"t think this site sells it (didn"t the last time I checked). "65-"66-early "68 2000 & 3000 use same Zenith carb (check the CNH parts page for part #). I don"t believe you can mod the linkage without changing the governor, too. We got carb for our "65 3000 from CNH but farmersservice dot com also has the correct carb and he knows his stuff. BTW, this topic was covered just recently, see the link. Several other posts are in archives (search for Holley or Holly).

My 3000 use to have a HOllEY, but now it sports a MS carb with out any changes. It came off of a 9N and works just fine.I found that Holley to be a piece of junk and could never keep it running. That was the reason for the change. HTH

I have purchased 2 of the same Zeniths from this site.
One was for a 65 3000 and one for a 66 2000.
The one on the 2000 we switched out before we sold the tractor and now it resides on a 72 2000.
None of these switches required ANY modifications to the tractor, fuel lines, carb, choke cable or linkage.

I just installed a Zenith on my 1966 3000 and it runs great. It was a direct replacement. I got it from Farmer equipment. His number is 330-482-4180. He is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about these carbs. Hope this helps.It may help to have your serial number handy when you call him.

Thanks for the info. I have already contacted Mr.Farmer and placed an order. He was also recommended by 3000OH. Apparently this gentleman modifies the Zenith 13914 so that it will fit an early 3000 (effectively changing it to a 13916). I appreciate everyone's help.
