Hi everyone

I have a Fordson Dexta. it has a 3 cylinder diesel, not sure if its a perkins or what. But it was rebuilt in 2000 and has run great ever since. but the other day i was cutting grass with it for about 5 hours and noticed the RPM's were high , even when it was pushed to idle. I looked it over and coulden't find any air leaks so I backed the idle screw off as far as it could go. The REM,s did come down but when I moved the lever back to run them up, the RPM's really go up quite high. would any know what would cause this issue?

If it has the vacuum governor there's probably a line leaking air or the diaphragm has a hole/crack in it.

Can you tell me what to look for as far as if its a Vacuum governor, and where the diaphragm may be? Are these around the injector pump?

Messicks Ford Dexta IJP diagram In the link number 76 is the diaphragm.

We use to have 2dextas still got one and had same problem with both
Governor diaphragm at back of pump had split
